250 Rebuilding KX250

They did not check ring gap for you.
They did check piston clearances.
They did not wash it after they worked on it.
Wash that thing in warm water and dish soap.
Clean it real good.
Spray it with WD-40 and air compressor dry.
Assemble with a slight smear of your favorite 2 stroke oil.

Should I coat my power valve components with 2 stroke oil?

So I'm reinstalling the shift shaft and assembly. It looks like I only have 3 gears, won't seem to shift anymore than 3 times. The kx250 has a 5 speed trans. I haven't tried it with the pedal shifter on yet. Am I doing something wrong?

Be sure to turn both shafts 3 or 4 times over while trying to shift. Sometimes imitating a running engine takes alot of work. I find taking it back apart and trying again helps. -BIG DAN:thumb:

You'll only need those three gears anyway.
No, what those two /\ /\ said. If it is all together right you need to play with your shaft to get it to shift in all the gears...

That's what she said!
