I like to shift it through the gears once it's at this point. Gives me confidence the drum is in correctly.
You'll have to hold her upright, spin the shafts to get it to shift, and keep the forks on their dowels. It's a bit of monkey-motion.-BIG DAN:thumb:

If it's not in correctly will it be able to shift at all? Like shift twice but no more?
 
No it will not go back together wrong. And, I heat cases to 320, and on the KX I use high heat great on the seals just for protection. Wipe it all off once the bearing is in, and get the lithium based grease on the lip before sliding in my shaft.
