New guy from South East Michigan

Yeah. Mine was a no-toil. I prefer the old school oil it yourself ones. The pre-oiled ones are made to be disposable and don't last as many washes.
I guess it will depend on my riding conditions, but how many rdes do you think I can get out of this pre piled filter?

Whats a good thing to use to wash them?

The best thing to wash your No Toil air filter with is No Toil air filter cleaner. The best thing to oil your No Toil air filter oil. They have two types of oil.

This is what I use. And I run No Toil Filters. The oil is non toxic and biodegradable, as is the cleaning powder. Takes minutes. Doesnt waste fuel for cleaning, and waste fuel to clean with. Not to mention you can do it in your kitchen sink. It leaves no residue or sign that you did it in the sink. However.......... You should only use NO TOIL products on your NO TOIL filter. And the NO TOIL cleaner is only really designed to remove the NO TOIL oil. Its the only soap Ive found that will get the oil off you hands when your done oiling up a filter. Pretty much any online place like Rockymountainatv, or Motosport will carry this product. But your local dealers may carry it also.

Oxyclean is a great substitute for the No Toil Cleaner, and it's cheaper too. But, it will only clean the No Toil filter oil. If you used anything else, break out the gas.

OKKK, I finally took my KX 250 apart today, took me 2-3 hours, It was my first time doing it EVER so I think I did pretty good. Tell me what you guys think? I personally think that KIPS is in BAD condition, some of the parts I had to force out and some of the teeth on the rods are completely worn out. I will have to order couple new rods. Piston also looks super burnt on the top. I already have New Top End Kit (WISECO). I left my top end and all the parts soaking in hot water and some soap, was that a good idea? Or what is the best solution to get all that stuff cleaned. ????

piston looks about normal to me. I would throw the parts in some kind of petroleum based cleaner or a VERY strong mixture of simple green. Nothing looks to be wrong with the powervalve from the pictures besides it being dirty. Should be be good to go after you throw it back together :thumb:
