Honda oil is Showa oil, good stuff. the only flaw is that you need to put blue tape on the inside of your seal driver. the all metal ones tend to scratch and knick the fork leg coating.

Good job though:banana:

Way to go. :thumb: You've been Roosted.:ride:

Thanks! i was wondering what to put on the inside for it not to scratch, i just put a ton of vasoline on the inside and used the Outer Tube while holding the driver still to make sure it didn't scratch. I'll have to do that for the next one.

So when i did my top end last year i noticed that the rod had way to much play in it. So after some number crunching and a couple of conversations in chat (plus the fact that i blew out my shock and still need to do the fork seals) i have to decided to redo the bottom+top end of my bike and do a little touch-up/Maintenance on some of the other parts.

Here are my plans so far:
Rebuild crank/New rod
Crank bearings and seal
New Piston and rings
All new gaskets
Rebuild shock (Again)
New Fork Seals
Repaint the frame
New seat cover
And then all the regular wear parts, grips, tire, etc

So far i have have it tore-down to the head. (Not to shabby for 1 1/2 hours) Now i took some pics of the piston for you guys to tell me what is up with my jetting. This means i am running too rich right?

It does seem as though it's running rich but it's better to have it rich than lean

Took the seat cover off today, took forever because there were about 100 staples in it. Then after i finally took the time and got them all out i found this. IMGA0555.JPGIMGA0556.JPGIMGA0557.JPGIMGA0558.JPGIMGA0559.JPGIMGA0560.JPGIMGA0561.JPG

So now i'm going to have to get new foam. Because thats just what i wanted to do, put more money into the seat than the top end :banghead:

Dude  That sucks. Just remember though, when your bike is all done and ready it will have paid off, your ass will be comfy :prof: What all is left to be done?

Well, seat foam=54$, shock seal=~70$, have the water pump bearings on order and will go out the same day to pick up fluids=~45$, frame paint= 30-60$ and new tires as soon as i can get them

Went and got My frame paint this weekend, along with thinner, waterpump bearings, and my seal-head. Got home tonight and had intentions of tearing the shock apart and finishing up the motor, but only got the motor done.

So i went and did the motor first. This was a little over-kill for just water-pump bearings because i could have easily drove them in but doing the "sweating" method made it that much easier.

Gotta have the right tools:

heheh FIRE FIRE!

So i got that all heated up and then i could just tap the bearing in with a socket and hammer with almost no effort

Next was the bearing that goes in the case
IMGA0571.JPGIMGA0572.JPG

Same process with that, tapped right in

Now that i got the 20$ worth of bearings in, time to put the 20$ worth of seals in
IMGA0579.JPG IMGA0578.JPGIMGA0577.JPG

I just coated the wall and the seals with a little vasoline so they slide and don't rip and they popped right in, used a socket to get them all the way seated

And i figured it would be a good idea to throw on the propeller shaft, you know, just for sh*ts and gigs

Then i put on the side cover, it gave me a little trouble with trying to get the waterpump, kickstart, and PV shaft all lined up but i got it

Then after i got the main cover on, i had to put the waterpump and its cover back on, so a little locktite on the shaft bolt and some waterpump cover bolts later..............

Now you may have noticed that the clutch cover got shiny-er in the last pic. I sanded it with some 1000 grit again and used mother's aluminum polish, came out great but i don't think it will last more than 5 minutes so it will probably end up getting bedlined
