RM250 I'm stuck

Well old man came over with his compression tester. Came in at 230. So I heated the spark plug with a torch slapped it all back together and it almost fired. Old man goes "hold it wfo and try it". Hoe-lee smoke cloud Batman. She fired up and the excessive amount of 2 stoke oil I used during assembly all burned off. She runs.

Still have an issue with the powervalve but I'm pretty sure I know what it is after reading my clymer manual. Now I just need to get to my buddies property and break it in proper.

Rode this pig for the first time in two years this past Saturday. So glad I got it back together. That being said its going to the shop this weekend to get the head shaved and tuned. She was running rich like gas isn't $4 a gallon. Looking forward to riding this wheelie machine again.

The motor is coming back out so I can replace all of the transmission bearings as well, like I should have In the first place.

It also feels to me like it does not rev as high as I think it should. Reeds are in good shape, what else should I look at while I have it apart again?

something may be binding in the crank or in the tranny... maybe it was shimmed wrong

It was not this loud before I smoked the crank bearings though. However all of the tranny bearings felt good when I spun them by hand. Power loss feels more like a power valve issue.

After re-replacing the jug to bottom end gasket all is well. I threw on some new yellow fork guards and have been killing small leaks here and there, but she is running great. Might need to fuck it up and take some metal off the head. I'd like to get it p&p'ed as well. Or sell it and get a newer 450...

My expansion pipe has looked like shit since the day I picked my bike up. Today I decided to do something about it.
