CR500 horsepower

Speaking of old mags. I thought maybe I was they only one who keeps all of them. If I stack all my mags in a pile it would be over 10 foot tall. I even have the MXA SUPER SPECAIL COLLECTOR'S EDITION. November of 1992.

Dear TransWorld mx, Donn you should know I can not let you leave this alone. Even though you want to. As far as AJ Waggoner, I can only ask that you try and contach him again. Maybe he was unsure of what you were asking of him. With that being said I can now talk about something that makes no sence to not only me but, all of the readers hear at Trans World mx. I will make it short, How much does the 450f shoot-out winner cost? Know how much will all of your upgrades cost to make it better? I am pretty sure it will cost more than the 12,000 Service Honda / Kawasaki 500AF. You also know the only upgrades needed for the AF500's are suspension upgrades. They already have more than enough power. Its funny you mentioned lap times. If you read your KX500AF article back in I beleive 08. You should notice that the lap times you posted got faster each and every lap. I beleive there were only 5 laps. The KX500AF was faster from the verry first lap and each lap after that just got faster. I don't see to where your test riders got winded or beaten up by the AF500's. It definatly did not reflect their lap times. I aslo want to ask about Brandon Lutes. You did not mention wheather or not he would place within the top 10 if he was on say your 450f shoot-out winner. You may think I'm Insane or just a little off but, at least I will stand by loyalty of the 500cc two-stroke. I have an IDEA, why don't you get a Honda CR500AF and see what it would cost to make it suitable for you to ride. Then compair the differance of cost between your shoot-out winner vs. the CR500AF. Lets see which one is less costly to up-grade?? Then do the laps and post them. Would that be easier for you to do? It would only be two bikes not four or five. Cause I'm sure it's tough to bugdet just the cost to up-grade the 450f.. Only performance up-grades count not stickers.!!! Hey well keep up the good work. I just want to help you hjave new things to do and test. I hope I still give you those good ideas. Now all you have to do is utillize the good ideas I give you. Do I get a free T-Shirt now lol.. Donn, I was looking through my old TransWorld issues the other day. I have a question about an article that Chris Kinman published in the 2009 MAY issue on page 90. It was titled Making Contact. My question is when will TransWorld have an actuall tire test. You know one that uses the same bike for better feed back.? We all know how bias you are with Dunlop tires. How you seem to think they are so great. Even though it would seem to me that the priveteers think otherwise. I guess your not cool unless you run Dunlop tires even though there are much better tires out there.. It would be nice to read actual test results. Now getting back to my question. On page 93 I see a tire company that I have never heard of. That is Motoz and the tire is called Terrapactor. I must say that tire looks Insane. I would like to read more about that intermediate editor's pick. The one thing that I do not understand is how would you choise an editor's pick if you never ran them? Plus how well does the Natural Rubber hold up? In the Highlights section of the artical Chris Kinman mentioned that they were priced to sell. I searched their web and lets just say that for their Terrapactor intermediate is not priced to sell. I know I could not afford to pay 130 bucks for a back tire.. Do you remember the artical I mentioned? Food for thuoght, We all know that the easiest upgrades you can do is putting fresh meats on your ride. So instead of letting us know how expensive it is to mod your four stroke. How about going in this direction. (TIRES).. Thanks, insane one

Hello Donn,
Ok, so now that the new year is here. I hope to see some new and different ideas from the best motocross mag out there.. I want to give you some ideas so I can try and help make it better.. Ok, so here I go.
First of all, try not to center all of your focus on the hot pin-up girls.. When I read the gone postal letters I don't want all the letters to help you argue your piont of haveing Pin-ups.. One or two is great but, not all of them..
I am sure the readers and subscribers would much rather read other riders and fans questions and your responces to them.. Yes the Pin-ups are the best out there. So please keep up the good work with that..
Second of all, we as racers and fans of the sport need to read more about different bike set-ups and product reviews. Like tire reviews, not everyone likes Dunlop. There are better longer lasting more affordable tires out there. Pirelli tires are number one over seas. So how do they compare to our two best here "Dunlop and Bridgestone".
Last and the most inportant.. Now that you did your 2012 250f and 450f shoot-out. Why won't you put them up against the best two strokes.? Like the offerings from Service Honda the CR and KX250AF's against the YZ250 and KTM250sx.. Against your 2012 250f winner..Then put up your 2012 450f winner against the KTM 250sx, Service Honda CR and KX500AF's. So for the lites shoot-out you will have a five bike shoot-out. For the big bike class you will have a four bike shoot-out..
Show any upgrades that were done to any of them during this shoot-out.. Make it as fair as possible, same tires on all and size. Show the real lap times of all the machines..
Make this year special to the am riders and the fans..This would be great to read about.!! Have a HAPPY NEW YEAR.
Great mag but make it even better..

Dear Donn "TWMX",
I promise I will not mention the fact that you seemed to forget to test the Service Kawasaki 250AF... Nope I won't.. Over the yrs of being in this great sport. I have noticed that team managers seem to change bike brands and teams. I beleive Roger Decoster switched teams three times. From Honda to now KTM. There is only one team manager that I know of that has been with only one bike manufacture.. That is Mitch Payton from Pro Circuit. If this is true I would like to understand why? Does he get special insentives for being with Kawasaki.? Or is it that he just knows what it takes to make Kawasaki's fast.?

Dear TransWorld Motocross,
Yes this is me the "insane one". I will try and not mention anything about Service Honda's CR or KX500af's. I want to mention the article about the KTM250sx was inspireing. I hope KTM is flattered about what Rich Taylor said about the 250sx. I would have to say that I'm sure KTM was wondering the same thing I was wondering. WHY THE HELL WAS IT NOT IN THE 250 SHOOTOUT.!!?? If the AMA reconizes the 250 two-stroke in the 250 lights class. Then by all rights you should to! Just putting it in the same issue does not do the bike any justice. How are your readers or any motocross fan's ever going to take the two-stroke seriously again if You do not?? Or do you plan on matching the 250 two-stroke up against the bikes that tried to erase then from the sport.? Are you ever going to give all of the readers and or fans who read your mag what they really want to read? Some of my friends say that I am verry oppinionated when it comes to the CR500. Well the same can be said about your mag with the four-strokes. Don, When was the last time you ran any upgrades articles on any of the 250 two-strokes? For the reader and or racer who wants to spend ungodly amount of money on upgrades and maintaining the four stroke. This is were they can read all about it. PERIOD. So tell me what has become of the Service Honda CR500af test. Is this the year that you will actually put the best of the best in a shootout? Are you going to tell me that you beleive that a shootout with the CR250af, CR500af, KX250af, KX500af, YZ250,KTM250sx. Against your 2013 shootout winners would be boring, not fun or no one would be interested? So I failled as I was unable to not mention the Service Honda bikes. Don, I can only hope I get my point across.
Thanks, Dennis M. Millus "insane one"
