RM125 87 & 88 rm125

52 :sudu: I know, I know, the bid ended in the middle of the night. I wasn't even up.

and now that clyinder is up to 102 and I bid 100 on it. :foul: somtimes I hate Ebay

finally got around to it and measured my tranny parts, all with in spec, so now my decision has to be made, 87 gears or 88 gears, I counted out the teeth by hand.

to start off, 4-5-6 is the same spread on both bikes, 4th-20:24, 5th-19:20, 6th-20:19
however 1-2-3 are completely different
87
1st 13:26
2nd 14:26
3rd 13:22

88
1st 14:30
2nd 16:28
3rd 16:23

I'm really just trying to figure out what set of gears to use, however those numbers for the '87 may not be correct because i wrote them down 5 fours ago and don't have them right in front of me, but the numbers for the '88 are correct.

Any opinions and why on which set of gears to use?

I know this is a bit late, but your ebay technique is not up to par. On an auction never ever place a bid unless there are less than 15 seconds left and 10 seconds is better. Doing anything else is just a waste. The first step is to decide what you are willing to pay and then put that in at the last moment. You get it or you don't. Never place an early bid as that just raises the price.

come on NH.... i really want to see this project finished. :thumb: I have a 1982 RM125 i plan on restoring BTW your bikes are way nicer than bikes i EVER fix up.

2 weeks and it will be running, no longer than 3, so sept 10th or 17th the bike WILL be running, providing the guy at the shop does the crank and cylinder correctly

The bike is still sitting as a rolling chassis, I need to get the rubber bumper piece that prevents the rear suspension from bottoming out
