There are more 500cc 4 strokes in desert racing than their are 500 cc two strokes.Yah, I suppose I will let that slide.. Even though they do not count. Because they do not have a history like the 500cc two stokes. I think you know what I mean. When you think big bore most think of the 500cc two strokes not a 500cc four stroke. They just are not popular.
The large four stroke just does not have the same meaning as a 500cc two stroke.
For the most part people build them because well, the 500 2t is still badass, but I wouldn't say that they're being built at a rate that out numbers new bike sales.There is now yes. I will agree to that. But, there are more and more riders buying and or building their own 500cc conversions. Lots of them.

I don't think thats the case, people open it because the general consensus is that 500 2t's are badass and they want to see them in action. Not because they don't know about them. Give it to me, I guarantee I will break itI do need to piont out something. If you happen to look and see how many times this thread has been opened and or replied to. It is over 3,800 almost 3,900. People are curious to find out more about the 500cc two strokes. So I beleive the demand is there. They just need to find all the resources to be able to build or buy their own.
Plus I need to mention that a 500cc two stroke will out last and cost less than a four stroke OVERALL. Its like buying one bike to last as long as two. Or in some cases longer.
