500cc's of Glory on youtube

Now as I said before I have a new computer system. So I will try and post this video I found a while ago. So please watch this video closely. Especially when the video reaches the point to when they are at Milestone MX track.
For everyone who says that the CR500 has terrible wheel spin. I really would like you to watch this part of the video. Milestone is a hard packed track. So, what you are watching for is the part when he exits the corners. You will notice the rear tire spinning and sliding out. Ok, now most of you will say that hooks up like shit, no traction, its burning the tire. In the mean time you over look the fact that the guy on the CR500af is still getting enough traction to pull away from the guy on the 450f. Then continue pulling away. Please tell me what you think after you watched the video.

OK so I watched the video. The 500 never walked away from the 450 at the Milestone track. The 500 was exiting the corner when the 450 was still making the corner. Plus they were jumping the same distance and the 450 was right up on the 500 before each corner. You can also tell that the guy on the 450 was checking up as to not pass the 500 as this video was about the 500 and not the 450 smoking it. On the first track when they had the rear view camera on the 500, you could see the rider was not riding that hard to keep up.

Maybe the 450 guy was just plain better and should have been on the 500. Also looks to me like the 450 guy was a lot smoother in the corners then the 500 guy. Also both of the tracks are drag strip tracks. Suited better for that big 500 power. Put them on a more tighter/technical track and see the difference.

Anyways, those are my comments.

Milestone:drool: you never take me anywhere.... Are we breaking up?

Thank you for watching the video. I thought I saw the CR500af pull away everytime he hit the throttle. It appears the guy on the 450 was checking up But, I beleive he wasn't. It looks that way because the guy on the 500af has better throttle responce. Plus the guy on the 450 checked up to stay away from the roost. Just saying.
As far as tighter/technical terrain the CR500af can handle anything and anywhere the four stroke can. The power is faster and harder yes, but more torque and it is lighter than the 450. The CR and KX500af handle faster and lighter than a 450f. I know you can hear the violins playing.:rant::rant::banghead: :blah:

but, you know what. Until you ride a 500af you would never understand. It is night and day difference from when compared to the steel frame versions you remember.
Yes, the 500af will be like racing a bus. If you never rode a 500cc two stroke. If you gave yourself a week or two to get used to the 500cc you will be faster on it. Not only that: You will love it and enjoy riding and racing again.

Would this be a bad time to tell you that CDA is 5 time 500cc champion in the desert? :stirthepot:

No, I respect CDA. I would like him to test ride a CR or KX500af. With his expience, he should be a great candidate to give good feed back. Even at his age.. :smirk:

I bet most of you have two or maybe even a garage full of trophies. So, just for the record I do not have a single trophy. I never placed higher than 13th in a race out of 24 riders. I do not want anyone to think that I am a pro racer. Nor did I ever say I was. Just because I try so hard to get a point across When it comes to the 500af. CR or KX. I would like more of you to test one if you were able to.

I'm sorry if you feel that way. There is only so much of me to share.

Sorry if this sounds mean, but are you brain damaged? How many times do I need to say it....I have owned and raced plenty of CR500s and KX500 in my day. I have ridden a couple CR500afs as well and I mentioned before I almost ordered and bought a CR500 and KX500af model. I may know a little about the difference. Yes, I have not raced or ridden much motocross, but I have race GPs on CR500s, KX500, KTM550's, KX250s, CR250, CR125s, KX125, Tecate 250s, etc, etc, etc..... as well as 4 strokes, the 4 stroke is smoother on the track.

You just mentioned it yourself by saying the 4 stroke guy checked up to get out of the roost of the 500. Why was that? Because he was up his ass that's why. Why get roosted that hard when you are not racing.

As far as HP rating, the 2014 KTM450sxf puts out 58HP to the 55 the CR500 puts down.

Tell you what, You crate your 500 up and go find another KX500 and send them to my house. I will test them in all extremes of the desert and I will take them to my local So Cal tracks and ride them there as well. I will then give you my opinion. I will also compare them to a my KTM450sxfe.

The KTM 450sxf may make the 58 claimed hp with only maybe 36 ftp of torque. Even if the 450f had 70 hp and only 45 ftps of torque. It will still never be like a 500cc two stroke. Plus the hp ratings verry from one dyno to the other. Especially those from the mags and manufacture. The 500cc two stroke has been under rated for years in fear of the manufatures not being able to sell them or race them. That has been writen and I will post it when I find it.
Hp and torque are to verry different things. A stock 450f will never have the power a 500cc two stroke has.

I would love to do that. If I ever won a lotto I would buy a CR and KX500af just for you. :thumb:
It would be easier for you to just ask someone if you could test their's. Or trade your 450sxf in for one. :smirk: I'm sure you know someone who has one. Please video it.

Stock Honda CR500 TORQUE not HP.
47.6 ftps
