Geeks "He Didn't Even Check The Truck" LPNF RR

Looks like you guys had a fun ride, couple of questions, what are all those tall green things? They are everywhere and look like they could do some damage if you hit one. More importantly, how did you manage to get such a large group riding before 2pm? Everytime you are in the dez, between waking up, eating, prepping, eating, deciding exactly where to ride, and eating, it's a miracle to get a group of five going before sunset.
Let me know the secret.

 No kidding right? When rinding out at Spangler, I leave my house at 6am, arrive at 8am and on the bike by 8:30am. On this trip, I left at the same time, drove a short 1hr to the destination and did not see the saddle until 10:30am

sweet. i never get to see myself ride. Thanks for that CDA... sorry i was so slow.... its those damm turns and stuff.
:thumb: You were rocking those trails Trav. I think I have more vid of you on another section.

:thumb: nice vid! I think from all the Vids so far, that trail is my favorite.
That was a fun little section. I have a few more so stay tuned.:ride:

Another great video CDA. One thing that I always get bugged about is oncoming traffic. When you guys are in the front and clipping along, do you ever think of someone doing the exact same thing only going in the other direction? I think I am more conscious of this ever since my buddy got whacked. I love to be in front if possible to avoid the dust factor but this always haunts me, especially on the tight narrow trails.

i almost had a head on going up the fireroad on sunday. 2 guys coming down both lock up...i lock up and slide between the 2 of em.

This is also why i usually dont ride on the weekends. I get my rides in midweek when the trails are less crowded. If i can actually get soemone out with me ill push it and not worry about head ons... but if i see people it definitely slows me down cause of that thought.

When it comes to roads in general or wide trails I "try" and stay as far right as possible...the possibility of head-ons is lessened (IMO) As for dust, I was told by a friend of mine who use to race desrt and what he says is true...if you're behind anybody and it's dusty, ride faster, get up closer so the dust they kick up goes around you......yea, that's the look I had when I tried it and he went down...kind of like when A2 dumped it in the ditch on the rez ride except HIS eyes were bugged out because I almost "center punched" him in the boys! :smirk:. I decided to ride sweep (drag for us cowboys) and suck up as much dust as possible to help the environment...:prof:

yea i was all the way to the right... the thing is even tho its a fire road there is a single track of smooth usually... they were in that smooth track going wide as well.

I hear ya...seems they need to learn how to ride :thumb: Glad you made it thru ok!

Nice vid CDA:thumb: I love that trail. Up, down, tight turns, shade, sun and even some stutter bumps. When you know that trail well it becomes even more fun:banana: I like the one little section where suddenly you pop out into the wide open and the trail sort of drops on both sides and you can see tree tops and the horizon. I think you run into fewer people up there but often better riders in general. All my near head-ons up there were all avoided. Down below at Gorman the story differs. I have rode up there both in the LPNF and lower OHV area and have ran into the same guy riding alone up there 3 times! I think it is stupid to ride alone but really stupid up there! He is confident and comfortable with it so to each their own:rolleyes: I wont though. I do wish renting a riding buddy were as easy as renting a movie:lol:
Im so glad you all had such a fun time. Hopefully you'll all do it again.
Now you all just need to incorporate the "Butt Crack" to ice the cake:thumb: Probably best you hit that when you get back down the Mt..:smirk:
