Sometimes Its All About The Bike.

Yup you are.. :bonk:The video you posted was a nice video. Of a rider on a bike beating another rider. Now take the same two riders switch them. put them on the others bike. Now see which is faster on which bike. How is it you don't understand my pionts here? I can show video's of fast rider's all day. I want to see that same rider on different bikes. Just like what you read in the bike shoot outs in the mags. They post the lap times of the same riders on different bikes. Then post the times to show which bike they were faster on.
In those shoot-outs do you ever see them testing the two strokes with the four strokes.? With lap times being compaired. Nope you don't Why not. I beleive they are afraid to show how good the Two strokes are. They still produce the 250cc two strokes don't they. Then why the F*** can they not be tested against the F***ing four strokes????? They are competitive no matter what anyone say's about them..

Some of you here do own more than one bike. Some may even own a 250cc two stroke and a 250 or even a 450 four stroke. If you do would it be possible for you do video your own test. Show which bike you are faster on. You can not go by which bike you felt the fastest on cuz that is not proof. Must go by times. Do this if possible Thanks.

The only Big Name manufactures that still produce 2T 250's that sell NEW in the US, is KTM, and Yamaha. And you cannot really compare the 250F to the 250 2T. In a stock setting the 250 2T makes 30% more power. As much as I hate to admit this. But you cannot compare the 2T machines against the 4T machines. We all know that the 125 2T was replaced by the 250F and the 250 2T was replaced by the 450F. The newer 4T machines just have and make more power than the 2T machines in stock applications. Even in modified race prepped set ups the 4T makes more power. Thats one of the reasons they dont run 2T bikes in the SX. They just dont have enough power to do some of the jumps with the short run up area. Out doors is a little different. But even in the PRO ranks 4T machines are the dominate bikes. Cant even recall the last time I saw a 2T machine race in a PRO outdoors race.

And in the shoot outs, because there are really only 2 companies that make 2T machines sold here in the US. It would just be a waste of time to do a 2T 4T shoot out. Oh and by the way the shoot outs are for brand new factory machines from the factory that just barely have the suspension set up for the riders. Not your 500cc aluminum frame monstrosity.

The results will not be accurate. Riding style from 2T machine to 4T machine are WAY different. In regards to everything. Weight, Handling, Braking, acceleration, deceleration. They are just different machines to ride and honestly shouldnt be compared. Even though they do the same job. They just do it so much differently that I think they shouldnt be compared.

Which one is KING on the track? Well lets look at what the PRO's are riding and pretty much what the majority of what everybody else is riding. UMMMM Yep 4T machines.

Now dont miss understand me. I love my 2T bike. and will probably always own one and ride it. But these are facts my man.

The 250cc can clear any jump the 450 can.

You are absolutely correct. BUT........ if and only IF it has the correct amount of run up area. Last year Jeff Emig asked the GOAT. Think we could clear that triple coming out of that corner on our 2T machines. Answer was a huge NOPE. They just dont have the torque or hp that todays 4T machines make.

I kinda agree with you TS. But back in the day when the 4T machine was getting big. They raced 2T and 4T machines against each other. And eventually the tracks got more difficult and challenging to the point where the 2T machines weren't competitive, or at least as competitive. But to allow the 2T machines and 4T machines to race together. There would have to track modifications, and possibly limitations on the 4T machines in regards to power. Because it just makes more power than its equivalent 2T cousin.

Ok so I guess nobody understands where I am coming from. So this is what I will do this summer. I will have a friend of mine let me ride their 450f and video it. Then video me on my bike. I will let him do the same thing on his bike vs my bike then compair times. I will post the video's and times of us on both bikes. If I am faster on his 450f I will say I was wrong and shut up. But, If I prove that the both of us were faster on my bike. I would like you to do the same kind of test and show your own results. Please.

I don't care how fast you or your bike are compared to anything. I enjoy riding what I want to ride.
