The switchbacks are nothing. but it's quite a surprise when you approach one and there is an ATV parked right there with elmer fudd and his gun. past a buttload of hunters last weekend.

Sarge you've ridden with a lot of fellas up there. Generally what part of Piru freaks people out... The rocks ? or the metal ramp area ? I must be contrary cause that rocky stuff gets me excited.

What freaks alot of noobs is the area with the ramp. it has some exposure before and after. and the ramp just adds a little freakiness to it. especially when it moves and makes the noise. lololol. I have thrown the ramp to the side before, but someone always brings it back. The other spot that gets them tuckered out is the sandy rock garden after the water crossing.
I believe the ramp area was ed and the rock area was frank with greg in front of frank.
They both like carrying those big bikes... strong young men !

I'm sorry but having to bulldog our bike THAT MUCH doesn't look like fun to me.....
It's a choice... learn to pick a good line and ride over the stuff or carry the bike. Everytime they wrestled those big bikes Ron just rode through the stuff. Guess who was less tired at the end of the trail. I've tried it both ways. Riding the bike is always easier !
