Shun me for I have sinned TRX250

Got the little quad to my house tonight :smirk: Adjusted the valves and changed needle position. I didn't really get much time to run it after I was done tinkering with it, the neighbors have kids and it was getting late. But let me tell you guys this thing is a bigger turd than I remember  No brakes, oil is black, plastics were held on by 14 gauge insulated wire   IT'S PERFECT. Engine sounds good though, could use a head job, oh well it'll be fine. Did I mention it had a ghetto snorkel coming out the side that came up to the seat :picard:
Don't worry guys my buddy took it off and duct taped the hole...double :picard::picard: Oh and the front left rim is bent so it doesn't hold air, some more :picard::picard: :picard:

If you came to a mudbog up here you would see some pretty capable and tall rigs. Big engines, nitrous, every thing missing but the essentials like a frame and tires. you would also see that a snowmobile with a long paddle track will quite handily beat all but the most serious of those. even 10 year old ones.

Years ago a buddy of mine ran a tube frame full floating chassis, it was powered by an alcohol injected 427, of course he'd usually give it a shot of sauce at some point, the rig would clear a 100' pit in just over 2 seconds.

if it weren't for the mud bogging posts,I would have to recomend that this thread would be deleted.

Alright so it cold starts right up. runs great, then will bog under any throttle and if you shut it off it wont start again until a few minutes later. So I'm thinking it's a fuel problem. Also this thing is so trashed lol I'll add pics here in a second.

I wish I would have taken a picture before I started cleaning this caliper up  I popped the piston out took some wet dry to it greased it up and popped it back in, hopefully it doesn't leak because I'm not putting any money into this thing (except pads)

That caliper piston looks fine, should last until the next time you use it.

So when are you gonna delete this thread?

Fuel problem, yes. I didnt see you mention SETTING THE FLOAT as was suggested by at least two people.

Ugh yes setting the float, I've been lolly gagging around because I haven't felt like digging into the carburetor. Will do tomorrow hopefully. Will report back with my findings :thumb:

You have what sounds like a rich condition to me. A rising float level reaches the point of needing a reset pretty often. You also need to check for flow while you have the carburetor off. For that I put the fuel line into one of my gas cans and turn the valve on with at least a half a tank. see that you get a good and continuing flow until it is dumped out. Then it is a good time to clean the screen on the petcock.

It's a quad so automatically you need a Sixer of Busch tall boys to get it running. Once started take 5 gals of unleaded regular and pour it liberally into the tank and all over the seat and plastics until the gas can is empty. Then take a Backwoods cigar dipped in gas and light that then toss that onto the seat of the trx. Everything will be fine after that. Since its Florida and there's beer involved it's a BBQ by default.
