Ask Brock, what I know is the microns are not as small as paper filters and therefore allow particle contaminants into the motor.

BTW check out this oil test I did last year. Notice how low the insolubles (click here for definition) are?

Next test I'll have them do a particle count that way we can see what size particles are getting through.
