I have a sweet Rocket YZ250 Smoker that might be available for a purchase..:devil:

As far as going with the big bore, it really depends on the rider. If he is ready for it then great, if not then it's not such a good idea.

Does he have any seat time on a big bore?

I agree. A 150, to a big bore, is too big of a jump. Get him a 250 for a couple of years, by that time, you'll be old enough that you'll be wanting to slow down, so then you can just trade. You're welcome for this valuable insight.:smirk:

AWWW, Spoken like he has all ready traded with butthead. :busted:

CDA Jr's bike upgrades were as follows. PW50 -> KX65 -> YZ85 -> YZ250F -> YZ250 smoker -> KTM350

:thinking: where's the 250smoker nowadays :devil:

I am with these guys, put him on a 250F not even a 250smoker it will be bad just bad. Not sure what you guys are saying when you say don't put him on a 450f but put him a 250 smoker because the last time I looked they are pretty similar in power. I let me son ride my bike once but I dame sure won't let him out on the track or trails with it.

Emireess bikes were pw50-kx60-kx100-cr125

100 for tight stuff 125 for more open stuff. Only reason I choose to ride the 125 in more open stuff is because I am straight midget status and can't put my foot down or maneuver it around to well when off the bike. I always told myself if I rode dunes or open stuff more often I'd have no problem getting a 250 smoker. I don't think a 450 would be bad for him, won't lie I haven't rode anything bigger then my 125 but I don't think I'd have any problem throwing my leg over a 250 smoker or 450. It's all about throttle control.

True they are close and my 250 smoker is a rocket, but a 450 will apply power to the ground with much more torque that will put you into "Launch" mode quickly.
