mixing gear oil??

Im changing my oil in my yz 250 and I realized i only had 700ml of the 20w-50 lucus synthetic that I already put in my bike. I usually put 750-800 ml but my question is, can I put the remaining 100ml using 10w-30 royal purple synthetic?

yes, its just oil, it all mixes

About anything makes your gears and bearings happy. If your clutch likes it you are good to go. About the only oils that don't work in a mix are the vegetable based ones with anything else. In a transmission I don't even. Think that would matter.

You can mix them, but not just any oil works for a wet clutch set up like dirt bikes have. Oils with a high concentration of moly can affect the clutch.

I agree…as long as the oil does not have friction inhibiters (would cause clutch slippage) your good

Use rotella t, atf, or motorcycle gear oil then be done with it.

I like mixed drinks. I like oil. It's slick. It lubricates. It smells good right out of the bottle.

Your clutch won't like gear oil. Go with the ATF or diesel 15-40 as suggested.

If you want to get stuff like that out quick, drain, fill with gas, slosh around for a minute, drain, fill with oil, run for ten minutes through all the gears, drain and fill again, that is all that's needed. No, gas will not ruin the clutch plates if introduced for that short of time.

People I knew put it in street bikes and rode off. The bikes came home on trailers.
