I used a stick and a piece of radiator hose for a oil fill plug once. But Timo took me to tonka town, and I replace it with the brass of a 20 cal.

Anybody got a good home-style fix/substitute?

Hardware store or auto parts for grommets that will work.

Conceptually I’m thinking this because I have one already. Dont know if I would make a special trip to buy one to sacrifice

There really is no good replacement other than oem.

I forgot how far away you are from riding it. A cut up piece of rubber would be a temporary solution. And even then, not too crucial that they float 100% I’d probably run a big washer.
