Picture Heavy!
This is mostly truck related, with a few pictures of passing riders.
As soon as summer school cut loose I pulled the doors off the tacoma and packed her up for a much needed trip! First stop was near Mammoth Lakes. Camped out on the top of Lookout Mountain and headed to June lake the following day for some cold beer and inner tubing.
Next stop, Loon Lake (westward entrance to the Rubicon Trail, Lake Tahoe).
The next day after everyone had arrived we lined up and got ready to head into the Rubicon Trail. The mandatory dam shot.
From here the 3 day adventure begins!
We encountered a couple riders going up cadillac hill. They were pretty beat up from the first 3/4 of the trail. They were intending on doing the entire trail in one day, roughly 50 miles total including the few miles of paved road to town. They were both decent riders, but a little unprepared. One of the guys didn't have bark busters, nor did he bring any spare levers. He ended up busting his lever and having no tools to fix it. Luckily for him I had some hose clamps and duct tape and fixed him up enough to finish the trail and get into town.
After 3 days on the con we camped out at Lake Tahoe. Woke up bright and early to head down to Deer Valley and Slick Rock trails about 50 miles south of Lake Tahoe. 2 of the guys decided to head straight to Pismo Beach and take the scenic route along 101 rather than doing more rock crawling .The three of us Tacomas pushed on!
On our way down the 4 headed to Stockton. The roads were a little slick and someone managed to slide off the road. Gave him a little tug and got him on his way again.
Last stop Pismo Beach!
where we had some crummy weather
and lastly the money shot!
This Mercedes saw 3 high tides while we were there.....
Now that this trip is over and I have gotten my wheeln oats out for a bit, I am going back to riding! Looking forward to some BRAAAAP time!
