Pro Dungey Shifting Troubles

But Mike Browns KTM quit running at like the 20 minute mark and they said it ran out of gas. I know its not NASCAR but you can get a lot closer than 20 minutes of a 30 minute moto.
Yeah unless the mechanic forgot to put gas in (highly unlikely) or there was a fuel leak (somewhat unlikely), I'd be inclined to believe that something else was going on. :thumb:

It was Brown that (supposedly) ran out of gas at Redbud. According to Motocross.com:
Michael Brown made a rear motocross appearance, racing the 450 class at RedBud. The Red Bull KTM rider looked good in the first moto but ran out of gas near the end of the race. Unfortunately, he did the same thing in the second moto. Interestingly, Brownie was running the same fuel tank as Dungey, but his go-for-it style just used more fuel.
According to the lap times he ran out around the ~30 minute mark, in both motos. :noidea:

Looks like Dungey lost fuel during a crash at Southwick and would never have made it without that pit stop. Not sure how much you can lose by tipping your bike over for just a bit.

Bikes can and have run out of gas at Nationals, if I remember right there was a rider that ran out with only a few corners to go at Redbud last season. There's a reason that they top off the bikes after their site lap.

Also, not sure how you could be that accurate in gauging fuel mileage at an Outdoor National. This isn't NASCAR, you have a lot more variables. However yes you should be able to at least get a decent guess by measuring gas used in a qualifying session and a little math.

 What's in Florida?

Didnt the gas cap fly off on Dungeys bike when he crashed?

Can some one tell me what a tuff block is. :noidea:
Like SF said it's what replaced the hay bales. They're softer than hay bales but they've had issues with the sponsor covers getting caught in wheels. Here's one of the newer ones that now has straps across the bottom, that help keep the covers on. To bad it took some serious injuries for them to make that change. :bonk:

Grant's was crazy, was his first start on a 450 and he managed to win with a tuff block cover in his wheel.
