South Geek Slide Molested?

Hey all,

My name is Roger (Strega) and I'm the GPS Coordinator for District 37. I guess that puts me on the 'Board' but I'm not as involved as the others. I'm there to help out with all things GPS related and getting tracks together for the BLM, rides, etc. I'm not here to speak on the behalf of D37 but I wanted to pass along some information to clear any questions people may have.

Jerry Counts (the guy who did that 'trail maintenance') does NOT speak for District 37 in any way, shape, or form. Jerry used to be a ride promoter for D37 but he was dismissed a year ago for not complying with D37 protocol. Jerry still runs his own rides but they are not supported by District 37. Keith, the President of D37, is a good guy and works hard for dual-sport and doesn't condone the actions of Jerry.

Please understand that this is one man, doing these things of his own volition, on his own without support from D37.

Jerry has done a lot for dual-sport over the years, and he typically has the best interest of riders in mind, I just don't think he thought this one through before he did it.

Thanks for taking the time to read my post. I hope that answers some questions.

Roger that ... :smirk: ... you knew that was coming ... It was nice of you to chime in. Personally I didn't think D37 condoned his actions... although I don't condone this either, moving rocks (also mentioned) is one thing, they can be moved back (usually) but chipping away at the earth... a "hole" different story! :prof: Thank you and good day!

Thanks for chiming in from a somewhat official district stance. I'm not currently in the district but was a card carrying member for five years and understand all the background in dual sport with countdown. I think most the guys here on DBA get it as well (the average IQ here tends to be higher then on some other sites).

Unfortunately some of the guys over on TT don't quite get it.

Nice this has been explained as it has. I was wondering though, why do you rape baby unicorns? :noidea:

I say we find out when C(o)unts DS ride is and block the trail...
How's everyone been?

East or South  I know a few of us including you have been down and up the trail just to the North. Having said that, I stumbled upon another section coming off of the ridge run. I need to go back to it when I am with a couple of capable guys that can haul my fat ass out if needed. :smirk:

I don't understand why his company and rides are still promoted on the D37 Dualsport Page ?

http://www.district37ama.org/dualsport/promoters.php

Can I have a link on that page for RIDERS as well without affiliation ?

Were there pictures in that thread? If so I missed them... Counts is either trolling or is so senile he can't remember what rocks went where... Personally I think he was trying to overhype the work he had done and it backfired.

If he was looking to drum up business he certainly lost any he might have gotten from me...

Funny about blocking the trail, I was thinking the exact same thing  It's a bottleneck so it'd be easy enough to do...

The baby's don't fight back as much as the big ones and the meat isn't all gamey...
