He did race the two stroke to begin with with Honda, even though the 4stroke was ready. Seems like when he went yellow he was all 4 stroke.

that has to be somewhere on record, it is quite possible you are right. I am trying to remember and I should be able to because I was at a round in 2005.

Now that I think about it, Reed was on the first Aluminum framed yz250 that year, and I bet you are right about RC being on a two stroke too.

bummer :( thats why we're still riding pretty much the same YZ250 that Reed rode for its final pro year (aside from it being a factory bike and all)

Speaking of such, I wish I had a pic of the angle the triples were at, it was damn near vertical

He was on a 2 stroke. Look at the pic I posted with him and McGrath. He is also on a 2 stroke

We don't want to hurt any feelings though.
Still had a couple of small draw backs, mainly Yamaha things, like lacking the stopping power of the brakes on a honda.

Note: I've never owned a YZ250 personally, rode plenty of them though
