All 3RD ANNUAL DBA TURKEY DAY GOBBLE AND RIDE

Yes, the weather isn't my deciding factor to go South, it's the BLM. With all the red stakes that have been put up, I'm sure there will be a large amount of patrols, and enforcement over the holiday. I've even heard from a local to watch out, and that he won't even be riding over that period.

Besides, who can pass up one of these?

Yeah I hear you on the Red Stake thing and probably the extra patrolling. Spangler is closer to me (2.5 hr run with trailer hooked up) and I will have to go out now just to see the damage they caused out there. If it is as bad as they say/claim, then I will be looking for a new location to ride in. Maybe have to start heading over to Barstow/Lucerne area..:noidea: I still need to make a trek down to OW to check it out. I believe I have been there 80 years ago when I was a wee lad.

back when they rode stripped down Triumphs and Beezers.... :smirk:...... :poke:

I still do not like OW although I have never been lucky enough to find the mystical riding area. :noidea: It is also a long ass drive to get there, there are enough people for a couple of Battalions and it is ugly. :prof: Even with the red stakes I have witnessed, there is still a lot of land to ride with open routes up around Red Mountain, etc. As far as the patrols go, I will believe it when I see it. Good luck enforcing a closed trail when it is only closed from one end. :smirk: Oh and did I mention this stupid state we have has no money to pay anyone? Although now that our taxes will be increased by good ole Jerry, all will be fixed.

Spangler itself is an open area. No red stakes. Now the El Paso's are a different matter. Same goes for the football field and the sand hills both of which are just outside the official Spangler open area.

Another thing to remember is there are not that many red stakes on routes that used to be legal. The vast majority are on routes that never were open. This season I've not made it as far north as Spangler. There were those red stakes around Fremont and Cuddyback though.
