View attachment 29800 Update 56 on my vehicle situation. I've accidentally ran the Eff Juan low on ATF twice since April (I really just don't give a flying eff juan about that MFer). With that being said it has had no reverse for the past 3-4 months and it now whines constantly. It was having overheating issues and I was like dude wtf so it got a new waterpump, thermostat, and a radiator. Now the FLIPPIN COOLANT IS LEAKING FROM THE TIMING COVER OH MY DEAR LAWD. Did I mention it's burning oil? Oh and another side note it has this weird unidentified metal clank in the rear. Bottom line FUG THAT BISH.
I bought a '99 Cherokee super stoked on it. Has piston slap like a mother franker when its coldsounds fine when its warm
150k on the clock
some dumb funker was working on it because the sum bish cut the body ground off and who knows where the hell the thermostat went. Dude, seriously, why do people run vehicles without thermostats? I don't know how much they cost retail but I paid like 5 dollars for mine. They installed a new starter because it wouldn't start...... but it still wouldn't start after they put the new starter on, so I guess you could say they're mechanics. I haven't even addressed that issue yet just been jumping the starter wanted to make sure the fugger would run at all before I did anything to it. But hey aside from all that the Jeep has no rust, it shifts well, and it has brand new tires. Lets see if it treats me better than the Eff Juan.
Those 4.0L's have wrist pin noise from using Teflon coating on the pins, it helps with lubrication on cold starts before the oil has a chance to circulate.......until it wears off as you would expect Teflon to do, and when the missing Teflon is replaced with excessive clearance you are left with the knock, however I can't say I've ever see one let go so you can probably relax there. As far as the no crank problem I'm betting if you check the neutral safety switch, you'll find its probably no good, they can be kind of spendy for a new switch but It's a common problem on those year cherokee's.
Finally got around to pulling the motor from the Camry.
She punched the block at 338,000 miles. Time for a Master Rebuild.
