What did you do to your bike today?

As some of you may remember, I straightened out my Pro Circuit pipe by putting it in the freezer. It worked beautifullly:banana: In the mean time I was searching for a heat shield for it. I discovered that Flatland Racing makes a bracket kit for the stock heat shield to mount on to my Pro Circuit pipe:clap:

So here is the stock pipe with the heat shield.

Both pipes side by side after removing the heat shield.

Here is the universal mount kit. $16.99 plus shipping.

Not a bad fit ehh?

It does stick out slightly in the front but hopefully not so much it will get caught on anything.

Im very pleased!:thumb:

Now I just need to get my bike running :pout:
I will be dropping it off with someone who is going to look at it for me and hopefully fix it:hail:
Man! Do I feel blessed to have friends who will help me out in a pinch! I hope to be up and running by next month:cheers:
:thumb: Looks good Sun. I'm guessing it is sticking out a little since it is made for the stocker. I just hope you do not get you boot stuck on that and it causes yuo to go down.

Now what is wrong with the bike?

I hadnt thought about the boot, hopefully it wont. I have had pants get caught on my shrouds before though. It was annoying!

Bike has been having heat issues. Running very hot. Last time out, two weeks ago, it cut out on me. Wouldnt start for a while. Perhaps a bad gasket on the water pump. Perhaps vapor lock or boiling gas. Im hoping I have not done any serious damage. I was going to re-jet, put heat tape uder the gas tank and replace the notorious bad gasket on the water pump. Well I wasnt going to personally:rolleyes: but that is what I was going to have done. But then I was told I really should look at the piston and cylinder. Not just cross my fingers and assume it is all ok. So that is what is going to be done. Open it up, examined throughly and figure it all out. Hopefully I have not done any serious damage and I will be good to go in a few weeks.

Well that does not sound good. I hope all turns out OK. Let me know when you get that thing back together. I know you ride on weekdays, but if you have a Sat open, I will try and ride with you...:ride:

I'd love that!

I thought the heat issues is with the KX, what's wrong with the SM Sun?

Well once upon a time there was a girl who like to try and do hill climbs with her SM:devil: One day she did one, dumped it, and it wouldnt not start again. She thought Hmmm...float? But then before checking it out, she noticed oil all over her patio where she had parked the bike. A cracked case! No biggie. But also since, her son took the carb out to clean it, and said it should get new jets. And that is where it stands. In pieces on my patio waiting to be rejetted and get a new case cover. Im hoping all it is, is a clogged jet. It had spark. It wanted to start but just didnt. Money is very tight right now. My work is slow. But I am hopeful. I finally have some work coming in so it can go on the bikes. Unfortunately a lot of my work:rant: lately has been on weekends. Oh well, I cant complain. Im just lucky for all I do have. Most importantly my health and good friends:thumb:

Why so? I run ASV's and don't have any compliants. :noidea:

didn't fit the clutch perch correctly, I put a stock lever back in and to make the asv work it was way too tight. I'm fine with most of it being my fault, but they told me over the phone that it would work with the stock perch(probably what caused my clutch basket to start to notch :foul:)

Ahh, yeah I got the Pro Model which includes the perch. :thumb:

I know what you can do with it :prof:

just buy a perch and get done with it.
no
the sting of a new basket and clutch far before I would have needed one otherwise hasnt worn off yet :(

but on that note I'm thinking a wiseco basket and tusk plates, at 40 bucks I could deal with having to replace it twice a year

I have tusk plates since last summer and when I pulled the motor down they still look new, granted I don't race or ride as hard as you and my motor free spins when I let of the gas
