2 Stroke Urgent hel needed

yea your right bout that,it being the outer for the basket. but to be honest, when I work on my own stuff, I don't get out torque wrench often, my elbow clicks when i get to proper torque lol.

Yeah, mine too... is that normal??? My knees pop when I sit down too.....

I was beaten by the bolt tried impact didn't budge and now the head is rounded..so I just put the cover back on and gave up all hope.. never before was I beaten by a bolt. .so its up for sale now I only had it a day lol

grind that bish off and give an easy out spin.

That thought did accor to me but if I grind it off will there be enough of the bolt to grab with the vice grips????

Not gips, easy out. Drill and stick it in, turn. I don't think it's locked into the threads, I think it's just so buggered up it's to tight to give. Should be the thickness of a washer and a little basket. Yes, it could cost you a little but worth a try in my book.

before you do that, mushroom head of bolt by smacking the edges with a hammer and drift, or an impact hammer. then beat what ever socket fits onto head, give it another rattle with impact. if no luck, then try what palmer said.

Give us a today picture. You can possible pound a smaller socket on but it sounded like you killed and passed that point.
Just asking.

Covers back on now..trust me the head of the bolt is fairly fu..k.. ..I think ill have another go later in the week i will post a pic as soon as i open the case. . and I think I over tightened one of the casing bolts elbow never clicked lol

Age old tricks are "age old" because they work at least some of the time. I never have been prone to cutting the head off when there is enough of it left to weld to. Did you use an air impact wrench or impact driver? If the driver failed when you had the critter secure (the outer basket is TOAST). I would take a boxed end wrench and weld it onto that bolt. If that didnt work I would weld a socket over the end wrench, and I have an air impact that would twist the transmission shaft off lol. Just don't use the word can't or beaten where a bolt is concerned. You should always remember that a seized bolt can smell fear, and the bolt likes it.

I fell inspired now by ye''r post ill have another go tomorrow.,it was an impact driver I think the one u hit with a hammer..my nephew was riding it after I put the case back on today with car engine oil in her.lol

Jam a penny in the gears and use a breaker bar, thats how I got the clutch off of my 175. The penny is copper and softer than the gears so it wont hurt anything. Just be sure to put the penny in the right side of the gears to hold the basket from moving with the wrench :thumb:

We are well beyond that point my friend.. I actually have a make shift tool to hold the basket..it called a wonder bar and she works wonders lol
