Dude, and you’re going to cover up that beautiful pre Art Deco inlay? Looks like a Victorian contemporary before ww1.
Unfortunately yes , I really like the old floor but boss says otherwise as it's about to go on the market for about £700-800 K and it's the living room (originally the butlers quarters kitchen) so too cold under foot for a fancy West end townhouse  the building is right around Victorian era, Google 7 Winton drive Glasgow G12 for a pic of the main house, we sold the first floor flat in there recently which also got the above flooring too, probs find pics online on Corum estate agents pics:thumb:

Impressive looking home.

It was the local orange grove farm house. Three lots down from us is a house that was built with the same block, and was supposed to have been the Mother In Laws house. What is a shame, is the last of the groves left in the early 70's, which made way for the condos, and apartment in the 80's. Which brings me back to the bitch next door. A inspector strolled into the backyard after the crew left and said, "He looked for us yesterday, did you know you need a permit?" I love neighbors that call and try to fauck you under just because your making noise at 7:00 AM. :finger:

Ummm, didn’t your contractor provide you with a permit?

They didn't leave me a copy. There was one pulled so everything is good regardless. And by the time we are done adding all the wood replacement, we will probably be close to your number. What really cracks me up though, is all of the boards on the original 120 year old house was fine, but the garage and all the additions had bookoo rotten wood.

Was the new stuff full dimensional lumber and/or redwood?

None of the full dimensional wood was bad. Just the 1940's garage, and the patio addition done about at the same time. Then there was a lot of 70's plywood, and a 1980 patio addition that saw a lot of replacement as well. So no full dimensional, the list was about 6 sheets of 1/2" plywood, 100' of 1" x 10", a few 2" x 4"s, a few 2" x 6"s, and around 200' of T&G on the rear addition eaves.

1st growth trees and the lead paint from the 20’s.
Also, roofs need to breath. Power vents and ridge vents with gable vents and good soffit vents will keep it looking new longer.
