OK I'll admit it. It was freaking cold over T-Day. I've been thinking and yes that's a dangerous thing...
My wife's 94 XJ6 is just about dead so it's time to think of a replacement. She also needs more cargo carrying capacity, because she does a lot of craft fairs and the Jag just is not big enough, so some kind of SUV or minivan will be needed. Well I have a friend who wants out of his 2001 Expedition that has 120k miles on it. I can get it for $1500 to $2k under blue book and it appears to be in decent shape.
Yes it is a gas hog and I plan on a third gas saving car like a Honda Civic or some other 35 mpg-ish vehicle.
Now here is what I'm thinking. Maybe I can kill two birds with one stone as they say. My current F150 is only rated at a wimpy 3300 pounds although I have towed 5000. The Expedition has a tow rating of 8100 pounds so it should be able to tow a smallish two axle 7500 pound max weight Toy Hauler, right?
So what do you think of my plan?
