Ar's became more interesting to me as more people didn't want me to have one. My 1000 yd guns are still fun. But if you are thinking fun and defense, I just can't imagine grabbing the same weapon that I would play sniper with.

I had the opportunity to build a cheap AR so I rolled with it! I much prefer a bigger rifle, iron sights, and pushing iron sights to the limit

I have a grocery store ar10 and ar 15 that is some leftover stuff. My son built one for three gun comps that I really like so my Christmas present to myself is likely going to be to fill up a lower that is in the safe with the same list. Then a Blackout. I just need to keep one in 223 for the economics.

My father had a browning 9mm on that used a 1911 frame work it was his daily carry. What a wonderful gun to shoot. When he passed away in Florida his girlfriend had her kids loot the gun safe. Lost that, an uzi, my grandfathers weatherby, his M1, a luger , couple of collectors pepper box’s and cap& balls.
