Well here is an update. The issue has gotten a little better but not cured. A mechanic told me the problem is the clutches have dried out. He told me to wire the clutch handle in and let it sit. This should open the clutches and let oil get in between them. He told me if this didn't work I would have to open up the clutch cover and I may need to pry the clutches open by hand cause they may be stuck together not allowing the oil in. Guess I have nothing to loose.

:shocked: If this is the case, I would be changing Clutch Plates and Springs....But that is just me...

If I have to open it up it will get a new clutch. Figured I would try the first tip and then if that doesn't work I will just get a clutch and change it.

Thought I'd add my 2 cents.....I had a problem with my bike creeping and stalling. I noticed the cable was kinked and bginning to shread causing it NOT to engage completely....changed it out with a new cable and presto!

:thumb: Don't forget to lube the cable, it helps extend the cable's lifetime.

Well I'm ordering a clutch. I have tried everything and with 300 miles on it, as soon as it gets hot I may as well not even bother pulling in the clutch. (All it does is soften it a little).

I'm getting more and more agressive with the bike and I plan on starting the modifications soon so I figure I better change the clutch before I break something more expensive. I plan to just put a stock clutch in it and go from there. I have never replaced a clutch so if there are any how to's or tips let me know.

Bryce just go ahead and get a kit - then when you go to install it, you can fire any questions you may have at the Forum. You won't have any issues. :thumb:

Well I tore it down and I think we found the problem. Most the plates were as dry as could be. The last couple plates were actually stuck together. Everything is soaking in oil and hopefully we can get them reinstalled tonight.:thumb:

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't that mean that you either didn't put in enough oil or that there's an oil flow problem?

Something to remember, the steel plates only go in one way. (Rounded edge outside??? Can somebody confirm, it's been awhile since I've done this)

From what I have been told. The bike sat so long 2+ years on the floor. That the plates dried out. Then since they always have pressure on them unless the clutch is pulled in they couldn't get oil in between them. Especailly the ones that were stuck. (If someone knows different please speak up) I put in exactly what the manual calls out for oil and the sight glass is full on the bike. So :noidea:

I hope you are replacing the plates and not using the ones that came out?

Everything looks good. Only thing I could find is a few of the metal discs looked burned. I have parts ordered but haven't got them yet. I was going to run these for the weekend since they only have 300 miles on them any reason I shouldn't? As easy as it is to change I wasn't to worried about doing it again. let me know what you think.
