My Fractured Clavicle Timeline (With X-Rays)

Haven't seen anything like this done before so I figured I'd show mine.

Sunday, June 27th - Crash I don't crash, I just run out of talent. :smirk:

No x-rays as the ER/hospital was a complete joke. Don't EVER go to the hospital in Sturgis, MI, especially if your life depends on it (story for another day). I wouldn't have gone there but I wasn't really thinking straight between the concussion and all the morphine. :P

Here's a picture I had a nurse take though. :smirk:

Monday, June 28th - Saw the specialist at OSMC (Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Center) Would highly recommend :thumb:

Findings: Comminuted left midshaft clavicle fracture with 2-3 cms of shortening and 2 cm of proximal fragment superior displacement.

Surgery was highly recommended.

Surgery Type: ORIF (Open Reduction and Internal Fixation) LEFT Clavicle Fracture with Allograft Bone Grafting.

And then we had 8 days of hell...um I mean sunshine & lollipops...until surgery. What really ticked me off though was that I missed the July 4th weekend at Red Bud.:banghead:

Tuesday, July 6th - Surgery

July 22nd - 17 days post-op - First x-rays

November 1st - 17 weeks post-op - The day I can start riding, to bad there will probably be snow on the ground by then. ugh

Oh and here's another picture (my sister-inlaw (she's a nurse) wouldn't stop looking at it). :smirk: For the 2 weeks I laid around and just watched TV it could only be news/boring stuff. I tired to watch some Jeff Dunham, but only made it to about 90 seconds before the Oxycodone had no more affect on the pain.

I'll end this on a serious note, if you don't wear a neck brace, go and buy yourself one right now. I owe my Leatt everything. :hail: Sure it shattered my clavicle, but choosing between a broken clavicle or neck/spine/being paralyzed isn't that hard of a decision IMO.:thumb:

Wow, Your hardware matches mine. Yours looks more like some kind of alien implant creature or something sci-fi. Hope your riding soon. My goal is also Nov 1st which will be 13 weeks post op for me. I am going to do a nice easy Dual Sport ride to the Lost Coast and back home. I'll make it an over nighter.:thumb:

 Yeah, I can spend hours trying to feel all the screw heads. To bad it's still numb...wait...holy :bleep: it hurts when I pinch really hard.:banana::banana::banana: Oh yeah it feels like it's on fire.:banana::banana: My nerves are FINALLY reaching the skin. Damn now I can't stop pinching it :smirk: This is like a "live" post, I pinch then type a little, pinch, type.

WTH was I saying :noidea: :bonk:

What do you think of my new shirt, I think you also need one. :smirk:

We don't have trails around my place and I don't really want to ride a snow covered track. :smirk:

If I remember right I was able to ride until the about Nov. 20th last year. :thumb:

That is a great shirt James! :thumb:

I was lucky enough to ride my trail systems until about Dec 10th last year. I don't think that is going to happen this season.

You live in NorCal right? So you do get a decent amount of snow fall?
Quick question James - does that hardware ever come out or is it there for good now? Also, great shirt! :thumb:
It's supposed to stay in, unless I start having issues then it'll have to be removed. :pout:
