Haven't seen anything like this done before so I figured I'd show mine.
Sunday, June 27th -Crash I don't crash, I just run out of talent.
No x-rays as the ER/hospital was a complete joke. Don't EVER go to the hospital in Sturgis, MI, especially if your life depends on it (story for another day). I wouldn't have gone there but I wasn't really thinking straight between the concussion and all the morphine.
Here's a picture I had a nurse take though.
Monday, June 28th - Saw the specialist at OSMC (Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Center) Would highly recommend
Findings: Comminuted left midshaft clavicle fracture with 2-3 cms of shortening and 2 cm of proximal fragment superior displacement.
Surgery was highly recommended.
Surgery Type: ORIF (Open Reduction and Internal Fixation) LEFT Clavicle Fracture with Allograft Bone Grafting.
And then we had 8 days of hell...um I mean sunshine & lollipops...until surgery. What really ticked me off though was that I missed the July 4th weekend at Red Bud.
Tuesday, July 6th - Surgery
July 22nd - 17 days post-op - First x-rays
August 23rd - 7 weeks post-op
September 10th - 10 weeks post-op
October 4th - 13 weeks post-op
November 1st - 17 weeks post-op - The day I can start riding, to bad there will probably be snow on the ground by then. ugh
Oh and here's another picture (my sister-inlaw (she's a nurse) wouldn't stop looking at it). For the 2 weeks I laid around and just watched TV it could only be news/boring stuff. I tired to watch some Jeff Dunham, but only made it to about 90 seconds before the Oxycodone had no more affect on the pain.
I'll end this on a serious note, if you don't wear a neck brace, go and buy yourself one right now. I owe my Leatt everything. Sure it shattered my clavicle, but choosing between a broken clavicle or neck/spine/being paralyzed isn't that hard of a decision IMO.
