I can leave right from my house so I rarely have to load up in the truck unless it's the MX track or the dunes. I run the stock tank on my 450 though so I have to stay fairly close because she's thirsty.Left my truck in Ridgecrest and rode to the Avi Resort in Laughlin with no support vehicles. Most of the time when I ride at home I just leave my house and on any given ride end up at least 80 miles from home without a truck. Then I'll ride 100 miles of trail and then ride back home. I do this all summer long. Oh, and I can hit dirt 5 miles from my house and never see pavement again.![]()

I won't put a desert tank on because the bike is mostly ridden at the track but I hit up the desert a when after it rains. I would like to get a 450X and start doing some distance riding though. That has always seemed like it would be fun to go for a couple days and just take what I can carry on the bike.Yeah, I run a 4 gallon tank and can get real close to 200 miles out of it! It really helps to remove the fear of being far from home. Sometimes I'll even pack more gas or I have a few stashes in the woods for emergencies.
Oh yea. Need to do some more of that stuff. It was fun. I'll try not to get lost next time. The farthest from the truck that I have ridden is 100 miles. The most miles that I've ridden in one day is 250. Remember that Slash X to Randsberg ride, Carl? We added 50 extra miles to the ride backtracking to look for lost ridersGood times!
The long rides are my favorite. I enjoy test of endurance. The Cal City to Primm ride is one that is still on my to do list.![]()

You need to modify the poll. I don't know how far I have been "from the truck". I have done 125 or so miles in one loop though.

It's switching the tank out that I'm concerned with. I don't want the hours on my moto bike. Not to mention its way to stiff for trail riding.Oh yea. Need to do some more of that stuff. It was fun. I'll try not to get lost next time.
I wish I could get 200 miles out of my (so called) 4 gallon tank. It's been as low as just over 100 miles at high speeds and a head wind.
I think that makes you fit into the 50 mile category.
Seems like that would put you at the "I do donuts around the truck" category. The shame, the shame...
Hey it really doesn't take very long to switch out a tank. Besides you are in Arizona. Plate that bike and ride down the street to the gas station when you need fuel.![]()
If you ride out of your garage it's the same thing. Just trying to figure out how far ranging people are. About the farthest I have gone is about 260 miles. Left the truck Saturday morning in Cal city and stayed overnight in Primm Nevada. Rode back on Sunday.
