3 grand for a 2006 is steep in US coin.

Don't listen to john about shoes. At your age, you will get a bike that "might' be to much bike, but it will last you.
With that logic: buy a 22 caliber gun and hunt bears, if you had the bigger gun, it would just knock you on your ass.

I will NEVER give ANYONE bad advice. Just what I know from many years of my own experience, and watching my boys grow into men as they road bikes they couldn't touch the ground without side saddleing the damn thing.
They know how to "control" a throttle and ride hard and good without letting the bike get away. So I guess the only competition was each other, and the old man.
Some of the little SX Pros can't reach the ground on their 450's.
