Finally exercising again.

I have a mtb trail I ride every evening, its a 2 mile up hill to a plataeu where you ride along for another 1/2 mile or so, drop down into some downhill switchbacks, and then you ride through the hills ( about 3 miles mixed up and down) around the plateau back to the truck

:thumb: That is cool. I have a lot of different options where I live which makes it nice to mix it up. I was looking at some GPS tracks from my Local bicycle shop of a 38 mile ride in the hills behind my house. A lot of climbing in that ride. I may have to try this out some day.

I've been exercising since I've become a lazy ass for the lack of moto or farm work. I'm training myself before Basic training and I want to max all APFT scores. I always hated running and I was never good at it. After about 2 months I have shaved my 2 mile time to 13:40 and my 1 mile time to 6:00. That is a HUGE improvement for me, but I still have a long way to go. For what I want to do in service, I am going to need to get that 2 mile time sub 13:00...ideally around 12:00. I never understood how important running is for your health and fitness. I recommend everyone to get out and start running! It's awesome! I've actually grown to kind of like running.

Does anyone else run? Or just biking? (I'm sure that's pretty frickin awesome for you too, I just want to wear that super gay spandex )

Atta boy V - that's impressive:thumb: I run every day on my lunch break. I do 3 miles and my pace is way slower than yours. I keep it just a shade under 30 minutes. I would probably be able to cut that down quite a bit if I didn't stop for a smoke break at the half way point.

I tried running and I died. I don't have "fun" running so it is very hard for me to stay motivated and go every night, the bike on the other hand is enjoyable.

 I was the same way when I started training, I couldn't do a mile without stopping to walk. But after all the work you put into it, it becomes enjoyable to push yourself further each time you run...trying to beat your last time. It's racing...against the clock.

I would love to bike instead of run..unfortunately, I dont think I will get a bicycle in the military. :pout:
