250 Broke my SHAFT KICK

:thumb: Thats the right way to do it. I was pretty much spot on for my description of what you would have to do. Though I did forget about draining the coolant and removing the water pump. Minor detail:noidea:. However Im glad that you were able to get it sorted out.
I am becoming an expert....
 
If i ever forget to loctite mine i useally end up playing hide-and-go-seek for the whole starter in the woods about a 1/2 hour into the ride :rolleyes:
That happened to my brother on his................. KTM ... :devil:... happend during a dez race way back when... if itwasn't his kicker it was his shifter... what a POS that was..... :devil:
 
Although I do agree the short bolt was the cause of the failure there had to be some other circumstance to cause that shaft to break. I wonder if the previous owner seized the bike and did some funny stuff to try and break the motor loose. Usually the gears fail before that shaft breaks. Glad you got it fixed
