Looks like it doubles as a chopping axe and a splitter! Very interesting. I seen it at Lowes about a year ago and fell in love...been wanting to get one since! Walmart has the Fiskars kind, and I think Lowes has the Super Splitter. Seems like most axe companies will be coming out with this type now.

To answer your question yes, the heat warms up the air in tubes.
