That's just it tho, I don't even know which way to go. Plug was oily so I'd say too rich. It almost seems like something else entirely is going on though

with the oily plug and smoke maybe its a bad main seal...also if main seal goes out often times the bearing is getting loose causing crank wobble which leads to seal going out.

That doesn't mean crap. Sometimes you get a bad seal. Sometimes you don't seat it all the way. That's why I only use oem gaskets and seals now.

Did you use OEM? I would still say swap seals and go again.

Not all things are perfect, and you would be best off replacing the seals even if they were OEM.

Yeah Adam, shit happens. You'll have spend a little time trouble shooting.

take it down to the primary gear and pressure up the cylinder. Squirt some soapy water where ever you think you might have a leak, then spray it everywhere it is possible to spray it and check.
