Pro 2011 Supercross Teams

My dealer has a YZ250 on the floor.

really, I haven't see a YZ on any showroom floors around for a while, only two stroke you can buy around here is a KTM even the KAW dealer doesn't stock little two stroke 65cc it is stupid with thumpers, you have to order a kaw, yam, zook, and Honda 85's.

One reason it makes me mad, knowing you can get them but they won't offer them up until beg for them, I hate when someone tries to force a product out because they know the make more money of another....that is why I won't got to a stealership. Not that I am going to buy a bike but parts, gear and so forth.

The local Suzuki, Yamaha, Aprilla, Polaris, dealer here in Reno, still has some YZ 250, and 125 smokers on the floor. Plus all the little bikes 85 and smaller. But the only place in town that will always have 2T machines will be the Kaboom dealer.

Thats the thing... The factories see big$$$$ in 4T... how many 4Ts you see out there 5+ yrs old in good running condition? very few if any at all. The cost of repairing the motor versus a new bike is outwieghed.
Now how many 2 stroks do you see out there that are 5, 10, 15 and even 20 yrs old still running very well..
4Ts are the Bic lighters of the MX community.

Imagine if he starts to podium on that bike..... Guess who's gonna sell out of 2 strokes the following Monday????
That would be a sight to see, especially in this day and age. However I'd rather see him on the podium to prove that small budget teams can make it as well.:thumb:

:noidea: Mines an 05 and last I checked it was 2011. You also have to remember which has been around longer, for instance Kawi and Suzuki only made their first 250f in 04.

Small budget team :thumb: for sure!

Good point James, but if you had a blown motor what would it be worth? I know 08's in good running condition are only pulling about 2k.... you might get the occassional 2500 if the bike is mint.... a little more for a yammi or KTM.
Yammi's hold up a little better in the valve dept and ktm is ktm......
In 09 I remember seeing lots of 08 250's for sale in the 2800 range and they were in nice condition......
just sayin thats all

Rider Injury Report

OK, so the first Supercross race is behind us, so I thought I would put up an update on who is injured.

Jimmy Albertson – Knee
Comment: Albertson crashed on the third lap of his second qualifying session and caught his leg under the bike. It was initially thought that he broke his leg, but X Rays showed no broken bones. Albertson headed back home to see a specialist to have the appropriate evaluation done, so look for an update next week.

Michael Byrne – Wrist

Add Josh Grant to the DL:

American Honda's Josh Grant will undergo knee surgery today on his right knee - the result of a injury sustained during round two of the AMA Supercross Series in Phoenix, Arizona, on January 15.
Grant is expected make a full recovery and preliminary estimates indicate a return to racing in a few weeks, according to Honda.
"Obviously I'm bummed about getting hurt early in the season but I'm also pretty excited because early test results indicate that the injury appears to only be minor at this stage," said Grant in a Honda release. "I've received tons of support from everyone at Honda and I should to back racing in no time."
