Awesome Biggy D...simply awesome!!!!

So, you gonna give us a tally as to how much this transformation ended up being? Not that you can put a price on happiness :smirk:

I did not want to share this information... but since you asked...

PLEASE keep in mind this includes custom suspension revalve+respring+shipping. I changed 100% bearings, 100% seals, 100% wear components. This bike had 20 years of wear and tear. It should last another 20 years NO problem.

I consider this motorcycle to be "ZERO HOURED" or "NEW OLD STOCK." :thumb:

MudFlap $29.96
Spoke Skins $29.99
Wheel Bearing Kit FW $10.99
Wheel Bearing Kit RW $12.00
Swingarm Bearing Kit $62.24
Linkage bearing Kit $59.97
Front Rim $50.00
Chain $31.18
Top End Gasket Kit $15.95
Rotella T6 Transmission Oil $22.00
Kalgard 2T Oil $40.00
Spark Plug X2 $5.00
Kick Shaft Seal $6.00
Tires $166.00
Aftermarket
Includes rear rim, sprockets,
hour meter, tubes,
chain rollers, bearing kits $331.50
OEM$600.00
FCR Suspension $540.00
TOTAL $2012

What do you think about that? Over 8 months, it didn't really effect my wallet dramatically.
I could have saved the cash and bought a more modern bike, but it would have had wear and tear of it's own, and I'd still have to get the suspension done. I don't think there was another choice but to overhaul the 1993 WR500! :thumb:

There were many other choices for you to make. However I feel that you made the correct choices. You love that bike. You have history with that bike. And no way in hell could you have gotten something else for the dollar amount that you spent on it. That would be a good equivalent and not require atleast half as much in the dollar amount you just spent.

BD, that is money very fuckin well spent. We all spend that or more on our bikes at some point just keeping them on the trails/track. You just spent it all on one build and now have a fresh, clean, new zero hour bike that everybody on this forum is creaming over. Don't fret one second about what you spent on it. Just ride it, love it and never regret it. You only have one live to live, do it the best way you know how. :thumb: nicest bike on the forum...bar none!!!
