2011 TDay in the Dez

So we take off and I find another little climb. I roost up to the top and turn around to see the boys and this is what I find.
A Jr pile up. Seems P841 Jr Jr did not make it and they were all bunched up so, CDA Jr. stopped and Yama_Dawgg runs into the back of him and goes down.:picard:

Rack figures he will take a new line while they get all untangled and figure it out.
DSC01538.jpg

He did not quite make it. "Smile"
DSC01539.jpg

He goes back down and takes the trail the boys were on. Notice the foot hanging out to keep his balance. If you look at the other boys, they all have a similar stance.

He clears the top and right when I'm taking his picture, he lays it over and does a roosting U-Turn:thumb:

P841 Jr Jr saw Rack take this line and figured he would give it a shot. Did not work too well for him either.
DSC01541.jpg

For some reason he was struggling on this section.

Once they got to the top, they all sat there laughing at their pile up.

I put the camera away and Rack and I wanted to do some farther out exploring. We saw a hill in the distance and made that our destination. I asked if they cared how we got there and they all did not care, so I took off on a 10+ mile virgin terrain run. I have no more pics from this ride, but we all had a great time.

After we jumped 395 and was working our way back to camp, I found a nice fast single track. I jumped on it and took off at a nice clip with Yama_Dawgg behind me. We stopped and Yama_Dawgg says to me, "So all I learned back there following you was to go faster." Rack was not too excited about Jr riding that fast, but I told him he is looking good and has a good riding stance.

Next up is a few shots from the last ride of the weekend......

Regarding the picture of RACK wit his leg sticking out...My assumption of that was he had stuck it out in an attempt to kick the guy over that he was passing..:prof:... Just an assumption, I could be wrong....

That would have been on another ride. I think he was just practicing his technique here.:smirk:

Shadow kicking ... teaching the others how to do it as well I noticed ... I sense a trend ......first the finger/hand gesture and now this ...

So Palmer decides to listen to his son and "Launch" off a little rock section and goes down. Now his bike won't start. While we sit there and wait for him to "Check" his fuses Travace pulls out a can of tuna.

Love hanging out with this guy..
DSC01550.jpg

Jr Jr had to have some of that.
DSC01549.jpg

So the bike starts and makes it about 50 yards and dies again. Now the EFI is not working, so no gas. "Did you check the fuse?" The modded TTR had the same issue once (not EFI, but dead E button and horn) and I changed the fuse and all was good.

How many DBAers does it take to watch Palmer work on his bike?

CDA Jr and dad hanging out waiting.
DSC01556.jpg

So Palmer puts it all back together and still nothing. The decision was made that Jr and I would roost back to camp and get a truck while Rack tows him to the hwy. So we take off.

That is all the pics I have of the trip. I changed out helmets this day and mounted up the Cam, so I will start loading that up.

Stay Tuned....:ride:

PRICELESS! Tuna Canyon, Geek slide, Palmer Launch pad.       :ninja::whip:

So here is the geek slide. I left the video raw, so you can hear Gman and I discuss how we are going to get gold metals at the next "Desert X Games". Also you can hear CDA Jr talking about a new line to go up. If you look straight down the trail, you will see a rock face with a small ledge that CDA Jr says is ridable...Then you get to see the Slide from My point of view.

Enjoy:

Nice video!

I'd love to ride that, it has to be the camera but it looks like some of the creek banks I jump out off of all the time. Nice steep little 6' ft drops, those are fun as hell.

This comment coming from turkeyhead is the pot calling the kettle black don't you think?:moon::wave:
Chicken Head, get it straight.:smirk: I had a whole outfit for the dinner festivities and it did not come together the way I planed, so I bagged it. Thinking next year may be a black tie affair..

The Geek Slide does not look as intimidating as it did Easter. Nice watching you guys master it. :thumb:
It is getting washed away and rounded at the top from water and riders. Pretty straight up now. If you watch Trav's vid of CDA Jr, he just rides off, no stopping. Next ride out, I'm going up that thing...

You would enjoy those canyons Jackson. Just make sure you have a good skid plate if you come up short on one. I came off a little crooked on one and hit the bottom.

Are you saying it is easier than before Mr. Chickenhead?
