All LPNF IS OPEN, finally! LETS RIDE IT on Sunday May 29th

Yes!! hydrated before during and after. bring more water than you think you need. as you will use it. keep hydrated. I have been up there a few times when others had ran out out water. it's not good. a few times, I was able to provide water to those that need it. as I carry a full water bladder, plus 6 bottles. One time a buddy ran out half way through our ride. I was able to give him a bottle. however, that wasn't enough. he ran out again and got in bad shape. he was cramping, throwing up, real bad shape.

Also, East Frazier is fun. if you go without stopping and keep momentum, it takes less than 10 minutes to reach the bench. what gets some is if they stop frequently. Going to slow and stopping takes alot out of you. I have swept that trail where it has taken an hour for those to climb. and those times, I was huffin and puffin with a workout.

Piru creek is a fun trail. we show the technical parts on video, but by most, it's just a trail. with a few ooooo look at that sections.. a couple of water crossings, rock hazards, sand, grass tunnels, and such. a must hit trail

going up lockwood switchbacks are fun. it could be from easy to difficult, depending on the line and conditions. if it's dry and hot, it could be a bugger if you don't keep the momentum up. if slightly wet, its easy.

Arrastra is a nice trail with dropoffs, a couple technical switchbacks, loose shale rock, and an off camber section. going down is easier, but up is funner.

Whatta is a flowing trail with a little switchback and good grade rutted downhill (or uphill) section in the middle. it's fun and flowing.

Yellowjacket starts out as a whooped out, jeep trail, turning into a single track with fallen trees. it's pretty back there.

Long Dave is a fun flowing trail with a couple fallen trees, a creek crossing, a little rock, and fun.

Goldhill connects goldhill road and tejon longdave connection. it's a flowing trail with a few cliffside sections.

Tejon is the main trail where it would be the crowdest one of all. it has from cliff sides, to tree reach arounds to rock gardens, whoops and studder bumps. a fun flowing trail.

west frazier is a fire road that has a couple of loose sections with a root or two to navigate around.

The top of frazier is a grated fireroad that flows through a forest, the ewoc forest, lol

Matau , aka grade valley is a graded road connecting yellow jacket to half moon.

Lowe Piru, only been up a small section, is sandy, rocky, and you lose signs of the trail from now and then.

Miller jeep, never been, but looks friggen cool.

Haven't been on snowy, was gonna do it last year, but injured my knee. it's the toughest one of all, where getting out of the creek mid way is technical both ways,. many have burn't their clutches.

I would love to get out there and give a tour of the place, but I'm out of commission right now. waiting for my knee surgery. hopefully i will be healed up by the end of summer.

Thanks Ron, and heal quickly. See ya soon.:thumb:

So what's on the agenda? It looks like I can get a day of riding in tomorrow, but only one day.

Adventurous = Snowy, or at least Miller and upper/lower Piru. The rest of it is pretty tame.

im down for whatever everyone is comfy with. Thing is my family is camping so i prolly shouldn't be gone for 8 hours .... 3 or 4 is fine tho.

Ditto! When is surgery scheduled? I know your going crazy by now but summer is so damn hot anyways it is a good time to deal with a set back like that when pertaining to riding. Ron I cant believe you have only been riding a few years, you arnt a whipper snapper AND still like to ride shit like Snowy and Miller. I want to be like you!:hail: W/O the screwed up knee that is:smirk: Feel better and happy healing! Im icing my back right now. I strained it at the end of my vacation. Not riding it but lifting my rear tire to move it to the corner of my truck to close the tail gate. Go figure:mad:

Your hardcore Cleo! I'd probably make it a small portion of the way if I were lucky then :faint:

It apears that "if" I can get a ride in I just might be up for a day of fun. All this out of water crap is making me wonder. I just might go through my 100 oz blader faster than I do in the dez it looks like. What would be the miles put in on a day of 4-5 hours? is that only a <90 miles? Another thing is that elevation gain, my bike is FI so no big deal on it but both of my boys are on the YZ2 smokes, how do they fair in that type of gain?

The mileage and timing all depends on the group of the day and what kind of difficulties are encountered. The greatest distance back to the truck isn't all that far. maybe 15-20 miles. however, the trails are laid out you could put in a good 80 miles if planned correctly

Soon.. I am scheduled a pre-op medical clearance appointment this coming Thursday. Where they take blood, check me out and ensure i'm ready for surgery, within the following week.. Been waiting for this for a while now. the knee is actually hurting more now than of recent past. it will be nice to be able to ride without bad pain.
