Chevy guys vs dodge guys vs ford guys

for dodges they say if you cant dodge it ram it well with a chevy you dont have to worry about that because youll be able to go thru it or over it :prof:

raptor with 6.2l V8
If I was going to spend $50,000 grand on a truck to run in the desert I would buy a base model 2wd with the 6.2 and put 20,000 grand in suspension on it and have truck that would eat the Raptor alive in the rough. It's cool that Ford spent the time and money on a production truck like the Raptor but 12" of travel really isn't that impressive to me. Don't get me wrong I'm sure it works well for what it is I just wouldn't buy one.

The Raptor is an expensive toy for people that can afford one; that's what all the SVT vehicles are. It certainly doesn't have the utilitarian value of a more conventional truck and Ford didn't intend it to.

I like the late '60s/early '70s Ford F100s and coal burning pre-2002 Dodge Rams.

Ya but I wonder how good they are going to be about covering something that is bent or broken from running the truck hard in the desert. The warranty on any other Ford vehicle wouldn't cover that kind of stuff.

Good question...but I can only assume as with the regular trucks the warranty's the same...There's no way to know how hard the vehicle was driven in order to have broken/bent something...BUT, apparently they're built to handle some pretty rough stuff.

All the newer american made trucks have a certain appeal to me. The Chevy diesels have a nearly bullet proof transmission. The Fords have big spacious cabs. The Dodge has the Cummins engine. I bought a Dodge and for the most part have zero regrets. The only thing I wish I would have done differently is get the Mega Cab with the long bed. Unfortunately when I purchased my truck that was not an option. Other than that Im quite happy with my Dodge.
