Bass lake ride report

James, no need to buy a bike for out here. Plenty of extras for you to ride out here, ummm, a 300xc for example....
Just a warning though, mountains bite alot harder than the dez.....

Yeah I was surprised at all the hospitality from everyone, practically throwing their bikes at me. However I don't like riding/using other peoples stuff as I don't won't to break something (even if they don't care I still do.) That and it's setup for someone else, I'm pretty picky on my setup. :bonk: I'm guessing that that was part of the problem, I just wasn't comfortable on those bikes. :noidea:

BTW this won't be in the very near future either, I spent to much on this trip as it was. :bonk:

:picard: Damn I just hijacked this thread :focus:

Someone can throw a bike my way...maybe one with a plate on it...:smirk:

I tried, but you wouldn't ride it. Something was said about you being in negotiations with your manager which prevented you from riding anything larger than a TTR125.

Yes, I was under contract and now my contract has changed again to "No Riding" for at least 60 days, starting tomorrow at Noon...:foul:. But.....Some interesting things have happened and I might be in the hunt for an addition. Maybe I can get a demo ride this summer in the tree lines of the Rackster's backyard from a certain connection he might have. Who knows, I might have an extra set of tie downs in the truck if all goes well...Just Saying...

:rocker:

We will definitely need slowerthanu to assist on some of the loops. :smirk:

:picard: Not if you're pulling a trailer. BTW how much time did you waste hunting down those numbers? :smirk:

Almost no time at all, I just added 20 cents per gallon to our gas price at that time to give me a nice round number, and i used fueleconomy.gov, and i keep forgetting you have one of those big ass goofy enclosed trailers for ONE bike :P

But in all seriousness idk where you came up with 1400, but to each their own i guess, I just know a guy who has a 1998 gmc with the 350 which is a 5.7L and it got 17MPG averaged over a trip to Cedar Creek trails in MI and thats carrying 5 bikes 5 guys plus gear and a trailer

You boys should know better than to question Coach :prof:

Coach, carry on.................... :USA:

Rack is right NEVER question me :P :smirk:

Because this is the real world and not everything always goes as planned, which is why I always over budget stuff. Which is better, budgeting for $1400 and only having it cost $1200 or budgeting for $1000 and it ends up costing $1200? If you keep on doing the latter you'll end up broke/bankrupt before you know it.

Also wait until you actually start driving yourself, you'll notice that those MPG ratings are a pile of :bleep:. The guy who I bought my truck from was averaging in the 12 mpg, yet I'm averaging 14 mpg. How can that be? Well because everyone drives different.

I have driven, but the longest I have ever driven in 1 sitting is 6 hrs, and I only have like 150-200 hours of total driving or something close to that

 Damn I've driven more then that in a single seating.

 So you've driven at least 6 hrs and at the most have only driven a total of 200 miles. Dang you drive slow. :P
