Finally changed my own tires

I've been dreading this all summer as the first time I attempted this, it didn't go so well. :pout: Ended up with thrown tools, bruised knuckles, and pinched tubes. Then I finally just gave up and took them to the stealership. :foul:

However I was determined to learn how to do this myself, so I asked a buddy to help me out. I watched him do the rear (which was a :bleep:) and then I did the front. Which I'd have to say, was actually pretty easy. :ride: Didn't even get pissed or throw anything and that sense of accomplishment is awesome. :rocker:

Here are the new set of MX51's, cant wait to go and try them out. :ride:

 This look always cracks me up:

You should look into shipping your bike out for Tday. Maybe we can get some desert dust and dings put on that thing! :prof:

What cracks me up is a motohead bike with his levers in the downward position like he stands up the whole time around the track. So you had your friend mount the back tire and you the front? Back tires are fun to install..:smirk:

Good job. My first time changing tires I left the 50psi in them; forgot to release after seating the beads. Talk about a slick ride the first few miles!

It'd probably be cheaper to just buy one out there. :bonk:

:moon: I actually do stand a lot, however they're down like that because I'm experimenting on lever positions. My fingers keep on cramping up and somebody told me to try that. And yeah I know grip with the legs, relax the hands..:blah::blah: :smirk:

Of course I had him show me on the rear tire, I wasn't born yesterday. :smirk: The tires were also extra cold which didn't help matters any.

That was some sound advise there. I had the opportunity to ride a couple of Gold Fish bikes last Saturday and the first thing I noticed was the bars were too far forward (for my liking) and the levers where in a more straight out position. But I coughed it up as these bikes spend more time in the woods or swimming so they like them that way.

 That's a good one. I remember once there was this guy, at the track, who kept on :bleep: about not having any traction. So I got my tire gauge out and figured out he was running 30 PSI. :picard:

 BTW Welcome to the forum.

I hate changing tires. I would rather pay a shop $20 and be done with it.

I have the MX51's on my bike right now. They last a lot longer but they don't hook up as well as a regular D756. I'm going back to 756's here shortly.

Too far forward, really? Huh, I rode Captian Pumkins bike and felt the bars were too far back for my liking.

:noidea:

I remember doing my first rear tire last year, I didn't even have tire irons and that's a :naughty:  ended up getting it all done but somehow the rim lock didn't sit on right so I gave up and went to the dealership before I got even more :foul: lol

Aren't the D756's discontinued as the MX51's replaced them? You'd better stock up before they're gone.

What is your bike also currently without wheels? :smirk:

I'm pretty sure the mx51s took over the d756s I think I read that in racerx awhile back
