250 Rebuilding KX250

Well the crank bearings and seals are for surely getting replaced. I just don't wanna tear the crank apart or get a new one. Do you think the rod and rod bearing is ok? Can the crAnk be thrown outta balance?

Define ok. Out of alignment is a reasonable possibility. Afterall you are expecting a press fit with a large offset to stay lined up. Balance is harder to change, and most don't understand what it means.

Check that the rod is straight, and there are no issues with the threads/keyway.
If there is no discoloration or play in the big end, as measured with a dial indicator, it is considered 'In spec' to me. -BIG DAN:thumb:
Well there is a little blueing around the shaft. Where the crank bearings sit

It might cost a bit but if it goes bad after the rebuild then you'll be :banghead:
When you go to the shop make sure you try and speak to the mechanic that will be checking it and let him know you're on a tight budget!
Hopefully hes not a pure company man unless of course it's his company lol
