CR500 horsepower

If my 500 had less torque would that make it more usable? Or is my 500cc not usable becuase the power and torque is harder hitting? If I needed to mellow the power and torque on my 500 all I would have to do is change my gearing. What do you need to do to make the 450 as fast as a 500cc?

12 years ago you needed a couple grand. Today you need a couple grand to make the 500 as fast as the 450 on the track.... they are way too fast for me

peak horsepower and torque doesn't mean jack shit, case in point, fastest qualifying time tonight went to a 250f, 1 second faster than the fastest 450

you're delusional.

My 7hp TTR125L pulls faster laptimes than my kid's championship winning RM85L on our backyard sx track....

Yes you are right. I was Delusional I meant. Not a couple of grand to make my 500cc just as slow as a 450, more like only $175.00.

I wonder if it has anything to do with the 450's having more power and torque than the 250's.. :thumb:
Now how well do you think a 500cc two stroke would do? With them having even more power and torque than the 450's.? :poke: I had to ask..

I was rereading the postings on this thread. I was thinking to myself that I missed this. If you read this thread from start to finish it is actually kind a funny. Of course my postings are the ones that count. Not to mention the most accurate. :smirk: Reading a thread like this does help relieve stress. It makes me smile :).

This entire forum relieves stress and makes me smile, especially at all the clowns on here. Isn't that what it is for?

the 250f's are faster. Your argument is invalid.
I think the way to compare them is the times they run in the actual races. Remember, when the 250's qualify the track isn't as beaten in.

Rutherford:
Compare the fastest 250 lap time(J Martin) to Ryan Villopoto. Martin 56.745, Villopoto 54.693. Second fastest lap for a big bike was Barcia at 54.931. Bogle(the 250 winner) as I recall was second fastest lap for the 250's was 57.052. More than two seconds a lap slower than the big bikes under race conditions.
