some LPNF Vids

Almost looked like a winch cable..........

Yes I did report it to the Mt. Pinos Ranger station by phone. I gave them the approximate location. also, as a secondary method, I sent them a link to the video today. as well as posted on D37, TT, KTMTAK, and here. figure it will give enough publicity to get this taken care of.

Job well done....glad to see Ed didn't get hurt by it! :thumb:

I have used this one travace http://www.gpsxchange.com. Beware countdown from TT will school you if you post illegal tracks

I don't like to just post tracks for every one to see. I think they should at least be on a forum like this one first:thumb: Then ask the track maker for there files. They can PM them to you like Msgtretired did for me:thumb:

Thank you Msgretired Look for me to invite myself after oct 1:rant:

I am in on this with you guys if Ron will have me again.:smirk:

GPS, man I need to get educated and learn how to use mine.

ok, :focus: LPNF vids.

I will start a new thread.............

No kidding! I have an outdated one I still havent learned that would be better then nothing and sure should know how to use:banghead:

That water crossing was surprising to me this time of year. That loop looks cool. I havent watched the video, just the watercrossing one. I was surprised the water looked brown and not more blue like, and was so deep! Im hoping to work on my DB this week. I've been painting a bedroom all week. remodeling my Daughter's room. My mind has been drifting on riding. I said shine this on Sat. and took off at 5pm on the Sumo with dirty oil, a bald rear tire and a shot clutch. Just had to squeeze a fix in. Went to the snake and watched riders hash for a while. Cheap entertainment!:ride:

Wow...just watched the wire/cable vid. He is so lucky! :shocked:That could of been really, really bad!

Oh boy, Im so jonsin to ride up there again! These vids wet my appetite.

If I could get a few riders rounded up, I am planning to make a run through the Yellowjacket trail this Saturday morning.

I want to verify myself that the Forest service corrected this or not. I'm gonna bring something to cut the cable myself just in case they failed to make it safe.

Depending on the group of the day, I hope to make it through upper and lower Piru creek trails, Half moon, Mutau flat,Yellowjacket and lockwood.

Take charge Sgt.! Seeing as you know that place better then anyone at this point! Your sure racking the miles up there this summer:thumb: I wish it were me.

I called the Ranger station this morning to get a follow-up.

He mentioned that they had someone go out there earlier this week, and the hazard was identified as an old abandoned communications wire. It's a weird communications line, must of been telegraph or something being that it's somewhat like a steel winch line. With trees falling, fires and such, these steel cables could turn into a hazard from time to time. He also stated that they sent someone out to cut it back and make it safe again.

Appears that this was NOT a booby trap, an act of sabotage, or such.

Guys and Gals, watch out for hazards while riding the trails in the forest..... and if you can get away with it, let your buddy lead, LOL.
