What Do The MX Tires Size Numbers Mean?

Like the title says, what do the individual numbers mean? For instance a 110/90-19, I realize the first 2 have to do with the height and width (right?), but how do they translate it real world numbers? And the last number is of course the tire size.

It is in Metric. 110/90 = 4.25"/4.00"

The 110 is the width and the 90 is 90% aspect ratio

Sometimes the numbers vary a bit. The cheaper brands tend to over number compared to others. With most tires you can go to the manufacturers web site and get actual installed sizes.

CDA = on the money. :thumb:
cleonard = on the money also. The cheeper tires are made in china by men. They are always saying things are bigger than they really are.  :smirk:
