Hand guards

Okay... need input from the people that ride MX. I ride a little bit of both (MX and Trails). What if any hand guards does everyone run on a MX track... Thanks in advance.

i ride track and trails and i just recently got the acerbis ones that wrap all the way around... i havent used them at the track yet but they worked out nice at KM. I laid the bike over a couple times and nothing went wrong. the only thing i could see mattering is if you are worried about weight tho. otherwise jsut get the ones you like.

I have run acerbis on an old bike they were good. I current run cycra Pro Bends on my new bike. The cycras seems to hold up a little better for me cuz I crash often. I do not ride any tracks.

I don't use hand guards, nor do any of my friends, but then again we don't have that rocky of a soil either. :noidea: If you're only using it for roost on the track I can't imagine needing really strong ones.

Hand guards are for girls....:devil::thinking:

Perhaps they are LOL Hand guards have saved my hands and also broke my hand once hitting a tree very hard. Over all mine have done their job many times trail riding. In fact, I need a new set on both bikes right now. Hmmm:devil:maybe it really is a girl thing:smirk:

And for those MAN enough to take their bike off of "the stand" :moon::P
:naughty:
Back when my bike came off the stand quite offen, I would break many of hand guards from getting roosted or smacking bushes.

To answer the OP's question, if I was running MX and the track was rocky, I would run hand guards to protect from being pelted by rocks. I see the pros sometimes run them and not sure what brand they are. Normally a smaller version to perfect the knuckles.

I've seen/read about guys the ride/race MX use handguards when it's muddy...keeps their hands from getting all jacked up with mud! :prof:

:thumb: I've never personally used hand guards (haven't needed them, YET), but I can tell you that anything that will keep mud off the controls is a plus.

the majority of my riding consists of very tight single track, I used to run Cycra Pro bends but I went through 3 sets in one racing season(these where the old ones) I now run the new pro bends that mount to the upper tripple fork bolts and they have seen some pretty hard hits and still look like new, I do get some funny looks when I hit the MX track with them on
