Nedge in the Desert? You've got it all wrong Nedge, we will all be in the desert, you will be in a high rise hotel with room service, drinking high alcohol content beverages, scheduling ten o'clock tee times because there's no way you are getting up before 9:00.:smirk::poke:

Well, 9 AM Canadian time is like 4:30 AM American time.
:noidea:

Can you ask him how he likes it? Does he have the hardwire connection to the battery? What type of connection is it (Mini USB), does it seem durable?

I like the Garmin 62s a lot. It works great. As far as I know, there aren't many hardwire connections for it. I know a couple of companies will make their own but I don't have any experience with them. I use good AA batteries with a piece of cloth between them and the battery door for a tighter seal. I haven't experienced any issues with it turning off from vibration or anything either. The 120 mile trip we did last year also it worked perfectly in pointing us in the right direction. The only bad thing I can mention is the bike mount I have. It works but it sucks. Buy a RAM mount and be done with it. That's what I plan to do in the future.
